About the platform

What JMSNexus is, and why it exists

Most journal software was built in 2025 and feels like it. Editors spend more time wrestling with broken plugins, manual XML, and outdated themes than they spend reading manuscripts. Migration between platforms takes months. Indexing applications get rejected because metadata fields are missing or formatted wrong.

JMSNexus is a multi-tenant SaaS that fixes all of that. Each journal gets its own subdomain or custom domain, a fully branded public website, and a private admin panel where editors run their entire workflow — from author submissions and peer review to DOI registration, indexing exports, and reader analytics. Everything is built into one login. Nothing to install. Nothing to upgrade.

We provide the infrastructure, the metadata standards, the editorial tools, and the publishing pipeline. You provide the editorial direction.

How journals benefit

Real outcomes, not just features

Here's what changes for your journal when you stop fighting the software and start shipping issues.

01 30–50% Faster reviews

Faster time to publication

Submission to acceptance shrinks because the workflow guides editors and reviewers automatically — no more chasing PDFs over email.

02 Zero Metadata gaps

Higher indexing acceptance

Indexing rejections from Scopus, DOAJ and WoS usually trace back to missing metadata. We enforce every required field at save time.

03 5 → 1 Vendors consolidated

Lower operating cost

Stop paying separately for hosting, an OJS sysadmin, a designer, a Crossref helper, and a newsletter tool. One platform replaces them all.

04 6+ Discovery channels

Better discoverability

SEO meta, JSON-LD, OAI-PMH, sitemap, RSS, Open Graph and Crossref deposits — all out of the box. Google Scholar, BASE, CORE, OpenAIRE.

05 Zero Plugins to manage

Editor-friendly experience

Drag-and-drop sidebar, point-and-click navbar, color-picker theme settings. If your team can use Gmail, they can run a journal here.

06 100% Data portable

Long-term independence

Your data is exportable forever — Crossref XML, JATS, JSON, CSV. Migrate away if you ever want to. We never hold your data hostage.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Don't see what you're looking for? Our team replies to every contact form within one business day — every message is read by a real human.

Ask us directly
Will my journal be accepted into Scopus, DOAJ, Web of Science or PubMed?
Acceptance is the index's decision based on editorial quality. But every technical and metadata requirement they check — DOIs, ORCIDs, licensing, archival URLs, citation references, COUNTER metrics, JATS-ready fields — is built in by default. You will have one less reason to be rejected.
Can I migrate from OJS or another platform?
Yes — migration is free on every paid plan. We import articles, issues, authors, references and DOIs from OJS, Scholastica, Janeway, ScholarOne, or any custom system. Most migrations finish in a single weekend, with old URLs redirecting to the new ones so your readers see no broken links.
How much does it cost?
Start free on a subdomain with up to 50 articles and no credit card. Paid plans are quoted per journal, not per submission, per article, or per user. Multi-journal publishers and non-profits get tailored pricing.
Is each journal's data really isolated?
Yes. Every model is scoped to a journal_id with database-level enforcement, file storage is partitioned per tenant, and the tenant ID is verified on every request — even on direct file URLs. Journal A cannot read or even discover the existence of Journal B's data.
Can I export my data if I leave?
Yes. Articles, authors, references, DOIs, subscribers — everything is exportable in standard formats (Crossref XML, JATS, JSON, CSV) any time. We earn the renewal by being good, not by holding data hostage.
Do you support multi-language journals?
Yes. Articles can carry metadata in multiple languages; the public theme supports multilingual navigation. ORCID, ROR and Crossref deposits all preserve language tags correctly.
What happens if I outgrow the free tier?
Upgrade in one click. Your URLs, DOIs, articles and theme settings stay exactly the same — only the limits change. Downgrades work the same way.
